I was a very active child, playing most sports available to me. This interest in sport led me to gain my qualifications in Advanced Leisure and Tourism at College and then onto a HND in Sport Science and Recreational Management. After gaining these qualifications I made a conscious decision to gain experience of working with the sport and leisure industry. I started working at a gym, quickly gaining my YMCA Level 2 Gym Instructor and Circuit Training qualifications. Soon after, I gained my qualifications in Personal Training, YMCA Level 3. This qualification included:
- Advanced Cardiovasuclar and Resistance Training
- Sports Specific
- Pre/post natal
While training more clients and increasing my knowledge and experience, I gained more Level 3 qualifications:
- GP exercise referral
- Sports massage therapy (level 4)
As well as being qualified to the industry standard, I am also full insured. Therefore I take my Personal Training to clients at their own homes and outside, as well as fitness clubs. I am also a Mobile Sports Massage Therapist. I am a member of REPS and also of the NRPT (national register for personal trainers). The Sports Massage qualification is affiliated with the STO (sports therapy organisation).
